The College of Psychiatrists of Ireland is pleased to announce that registration for our virtual ‘Careers in Psychiatry’ event 2023 is now OPEN.

Organised by the Trainee Committee of the College, our Careers in Psychiatry events are aimed at medical students, interns and NCHDs who are interested in a career in Psychiatry, learning about the training pathway or who simply want to find out more about the work Psychiatrists do.

The event includes talks and presentations from Trainees and Consultants about the training scheme and their experiences working in Psychiatry. There will be a Q&A session at the end of the talk.

On the day, we aim to detail the training pathway and research opportunities, as well as exploring both the cutting-edge science aspects of Psychiatry and the varied career opportunities that lie within the many psychiatric specialties and subspecialties – areas of interest which are often not covered in undergraduate teaching.
