On Thursday 21st November, the College held an award ceremony celebrating the recipients of three separate awards: Membership of the College (MCPsychl), Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST), and the Aspire Post CSCST Fellowship. The ceremony was held in the Conrad Hotel in Dublin, and was the first time the College held a stand-alone event to celebrate its graduates and its new members.
Prof Anne-Marie O’Dwyer, Chief Examiner in the College, presented the membership awards, saying: ‘Congratulations to the successful candidates who have passed this years’ CPsychI Clinical Examination. Through your hard work, you have navigated this professional challenge alongside working in stressful and busy jobs. We are delighted to see Trainees progressing and succeeding. We hope that passing the Clinical Examination will serve as an important milestone in your career which involves ongoing learning and development’.
Prof Aoibhinn Lynch, Dean of the College, addressed the group awarded for completion of Specialist Training, saying: ‘Congratulations to all of the Higher Trainees who have been awarded a CSCST in Psychiatry or its specialities. This represents the culmination of many years’ work and dedication for each of you. It is with great satisfaction that we see Higher Trainees successfully completing training and moving on to the next stage of their careers. I wish you a successful and fulfilling career ahead’.
Prof Aoibhinn Lynch then presented the Aspire Post CSCST Fellowship Award to Dr Liliana Isabel Andre Marques, to whom we offer huge congratulations on her achievement. Lorcan Martin, College President, finished the proceedings with a closing address: ‘I see many familiar faces and it has been a privilege to work with you in day-to-day clinical practice or in preparation for exams. You are the people into whose hands our profession will be entrusted and I have every confidence that you will carry it and our College safely into the future.’
There was a wonderful atmosphere of celebration, as the photos below can attest to! Congratulations to the recipients of each of the awards!
