Physical and mental illnesses are profoundly intertwined and strongly affect our sense of self. Lived experience of illness is important to a full understanding. Gaps in communication pose significant challenges across therapeutic encounters in medicine and across the lifespan. Sessions at the summer school will work to better comprehend and facilitate these challenges, with the aim of enhancing communication and better serving the needs of patients and of healthcare professionals.
The programme incorporates:
- Day 1: Eating, Nurture and Nutrition- a Transdisciplinary View.
- Day 2. Embodying Illness and the impact of physical and mental health
- Day 3. Narrative at the heart of care across the lifespan
